News News News: Free Resource Pack

Introduce school children to the exciting world of ‘News News News.’

If you’re looking for an original way to listen to youth voice in your school or educational setting you can download this FREE resource pack that helps you turn young people into journalists to create news stories for adults.

News News News is a concept created by Andy Field and Beckie Darlington that invites children to consider the news stories they want to cover. It was originally created as a concept whereby the artists invited 10 primary school children to become reporters over three weeks.  In that time, the students learned how to capture news stories about issues they wanted to cover and then put together a live news show for adult audiences so that their voices could be heard.

You can find out more about what happened when BCA worked with Primary Primary School (Bedford) and Beaudesert Lower School (Leighton Buzzard) to deliver this project, and you can also watch news clips from the shows here.

In this FREE resource you can:

  • help a group of young people in your class or school to become mini-reporters
  • teach your students skills in public speaking, researching, writing, editing and more
  • capture Youth Voice on issues that matter to your children and their school or community
  • create a theatre performance to share with parents, governors and colleagues that helps your young people share what matters to them.
