POP Art Window Exhibitions Bring a Creative Spark to Bedford’s Church Arcade

Church Arcade in Bedford (MK40 1LQ) is bursting with colour and creativity thanks to a brand new series of POP Art window exhibitions now on display. These eye-catching showcases transform empty shopfronts into vibrant art galleries, adding energy and inspiration to the town’s high street.
At Unit 16, local artist Karen Reep presents a striking solo exhibition, offering a personal glimpse into her artistic vision. Just around the corner at Unit 2 (Millmans), a dynamic group exhibition features the talents of Rachel Heady, Samah Ahmed, Rebekah Barnett, and Steve Barrett, highlighting the rich diversity and creativity within Bedford’s art scene.
The Pride Of Place (POP) Art project, founded by artist and producer Talia Giles, is known for reimagining unused retail spaces as platforms for local expression. While Talia is currently taking a short break, fellow artist Anne-Marie Abbate has stepped in to curate these latest exhibitions—ensuring the project continues to thrive and uplift the community.
Whether you’re a long-time art lover or just curious, these displays offer a unique reason to visit the town centre. Stop by Church Arcade and discover how POP Art is turning vacant windows into sources of local pride and creative celebration.
POP Art is delivered in partnership with Pride of Place Bedford and Bedford Creative Arts. This project is made possible thanks to Bedford Borough Council’s Town Centre Priority Fund and the Gale Family Trust.
We’d like to say an enormous thanks to our agents and landlords for making this project a reality.
