Karen Reep

Karen Reep is a full-time Artist specialising in pet art, farm art and British Wildlife. She was a Paediatric nurse for nearly 40 years and throughout her career she drew many pictures of colleagues going about their daily work within the NHS, and has said ‘I want all members of the NHS team to be recognised not just the nurses and doctors in my paintings.”
Her pet art is very precious to her as it is how she started her artist career 3 years ago, post retirement. She hopes to bring a smile and comfort to those who may have also lost their pet.
She likes to paint farm animals in her own style, keeping colours simple using tones of grey, brown, cream and a splash of colour in the eyes. She often sketches hares in ink, often quick and messy to capture the feeling of movement and excitement of the animals. She is grateful to have 3 wildlife photographers that kindly allow her to use their photos as a reference for many of her paintings and sketches.
