Quilla Constance

Quilla Constance (abbreviated QC) is an ‘exotic’ militant punk persona created and performed by artist Jennifer Allen.

Allen studied at The Ruskin School of Art and Goldsmiths College, and has exhibited widely since 2001. Allen also studied acting at Rose Bruford College, trained in Freestyle Disco dancing at Jane Rose School of Dance, and learned to play cello using the Suzuki method.

Allen’s artworks are subsequently informed by skills and knowledge acquired through practicing and deconstructing a variety of learned languages. Currently, through Quilla Constance, Allen stages interventions across an interdisciplinary practice of paintings, installations, costumes, photographs, live performances and music videos.
