Jasmin Lea

Artist

Jasmin is a creative, poet, and community worker working at the intersection of theology, social work, and the arts. Her interest is in storytelling as a practice of paying attention, healing, and human connection. Her work holds together creativity, pastoral sensitivity, and relational presence, with a focus on supporting individuals and communities through reflective and trauma-aware engagement.

She has found herself working in and across many different landscapes: facilitating poetry workshops behind prison walls; accompanying people who have fled conflict and war; listening and creating across many languages; and moving within the worlds and practices of artists and communities who use creativity to make meaning, hold complexity, and tell stories.

Flying Mountains is a collaborative painting about home, belonging, and memory through our five senses. The work invites you to take a moment to breathe and behold what a few women from Afghanistan share with us about their sense of home. The mountains of Afghanistan, along with all that makes us feel at home, are set in motion by a golden eagle, a symbol of strength and freedom.
