What airship treasures do you have at home? This could be anything from a photo, to newspaper cuttings, a model or any memorabilia related to airships. BCA invite you to share these in the form of an ‘unboxing’ video, for our community archive, as part of our project Airship Dreams. Simply unwrap or remove your artefact from its packaging, showing it and explaining it to the camera, as demonstrated in this introduction.
Unboxing with Alastair Lawson
In our first video, Sita Thomas invites Alastair Lawson, the Vice Chairman of the Airship Heritage Trust, to unbox some of his favourite airship objects.
Unboxing with Cheryl Ganz
In this video, Cheryl shows off some wonderful pieces of mail that were flown on the R100 and R101 – including one that was personally carried and autographed by Barnes Wallis.
Unboxing with Dr. Nina Baker

Dr Baker shows off her wonderful airship artefacts, including a charming souvenir book aimed at children of airship travellers. Dr Baker has recently released a book about the life and work of Hilda M Lyon, who was instrumental in the design of the R101
