Steven Barrett

Originally from Manchester, Steven Barrett is a creative illustrator and designer now based in Bedford. His original passion for sketching led him to develop a highly individual style, which he now expresses in his current designs. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of design and illustration styles from around the world, Steven creates stunning works that are as varied as they are unique.

In addition to his illustrative work, Steven has applied his creative background to producing *Wired Bonsai*—a range of individually hand-crafted bonsai trees shaped from aluminium wire. Each tree is mounted on a unique base, drawing influence from traditional Japanese Bonsai practices. Crafted from lightweight, sustainable aluminium wire, no two sculptures are the same, varying in shape, size, colour, and setting. Steven aims to capture the symbolism behind Bonsai art—reflecting the Zen Buddhist principles of balance and harmony. The result is a captivating blend of form and philosophy, translating nature into expressive, modern sculptures.
