Creative Exchange is an informal meet-up for Bedfordshire creatives where you can network with like-minded people. The meet-ups will provide opportunities for creatives to share ideas and opportunities with each other and discuss art & creativity in the local area.
The quarterly series will feature 3-4 guest speakers at each event from various backgrounds who can give you an insight into their projects.
In this session we will discuss the importance of art in Bedford. We will be joined by artist Clemance Debaig and Quilla Constance who will discuss their latest peices. Ami Aubrey will discuss the processes that go behind making these engaging artworks and its importance to Bedford.
Speakers include:
- Ami Aubrey is the programme’s producer at Bedford Creative Arts. Her background includes working in both independent and community film. Ami has a passion for engaging communities and has developed a specialism in producing innovative digital projects. She has strong experience in strategic planning and commissioning.
- Clemence Debaig is a French-born artist based in London. She is a dance artist, XR designer, creative technologist and educator. She is the artistic director of Unwired Studio and Unwired Dance Theatre. She creates work for remote audiences, galleries, the stage, and more unconventional sites, in the form of interactive installations, games, audio-visual experiences and performances.
- Quilla Constance (abbreviated QC) is a Bedford based artist whos ‘exotic’ militant punk persona is created and performed by artist Jennifer Allen. Her latest installation at The Higgins Bedford explores performative interactions and conversations with the public across London and the South East, through a series of performance workshops at Tate Exchange/Tate Modern in 2019.
