Translation of Love by Hope Givers Choir
Working with Friends of Refugees and lead by Jo Hudson Lett our Countrywide CD , launched at last year’s Refugee Week has been further developed and renamed as ‘Translation of Love’. It was launched with a choir performance at the Bedford Refugee Week Celebrations at The Harpur Suite, Corn Exchange and online here.
The Hope Givers choir was formed in February 2018, led by Johanne Hudson Lett and was based on conversations about family and life experiences. The group created songs that they wanted the world to hear. With the translation of languages, patience and trust, this enabled them to work together to complete the CD ‘Translation of Love‘.
The original songs form Countrywide were created during a community exchange project involving detainees at Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre and Mind BLMK choir members. Mind BLMK choir performed the songs at The Higgins Bedford launch of Refugee Week 2017.
