BACE Twinning Conference: Creative Collaborations in Education

Join our free conference exploring collaboration between the arts and education sectors. Explore how together we can work to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for the young people of Bedford. Extend your networks, meet like-minded colleaguesidentify next steps and helpful resources. Expect frank stories of relationship building, lessons learnt and practical problem solving from the Bedford Arts and Cultural Education (BACE) Twinning programme 2018/2019. Choose breakout sessions on the following themes: Heritage & Libraries, Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts.  

Speakers include; Ben Pearson, Chief Education Officer, Bedford Borough Council; Gill Peck, BACE and Putnoe Primary; Annabel Thomas, Trinity College London; Emma Van Nieuwenburgh & Tina Gray Rampello, Royal Opera House Bridge; Paul Wildman, Lincroft Academy and Samantha Martin, Arts Council England.  

Hear case studies of creative collaboration from; Bedford Creative Arts & Wootton Lower School, Full House Theatre Putnoe Primary School, The Philharmonia Orchestra & St John Rigby Primary School, The Higgins Bedford & Mark Rutherford School, Music for Bedford Borough & Sharnbrook Academy, Bedford Borough Libraries & Goldington Green Primary School, Dance Path & Scott Primary School, artist Anne Marie Stijelja & The Grange Academy. 

Suitable for colleagues from both the education and cultural sector (including artists and freelance practitioners), and school governors who are keen to work in collaboration. Artsmark Schools are particularly welcome. 

The conference, and the Twinning project itself, were funded by the Education Improvement Strategic group and the venue was generously donated by the University of Bedfordshire.
