16 March to 12 April 2015. This Winter we have been working with Artists Dash n Dem, Bedford Community groups, a leading political cartoonist and a top London advertising agency to harness the power of billboard advertising to give voice to the diverse communities of Bedford as we gear up to this year’s general election. Dash n Dem researched political posters and the techniques used to sell ideas. They worked with Bedford community groups through a series of workshops, teaching them how to use these techniques to develop their own ideal message. As part of this process they made an enacted their own ‘Fantasy Election Pledges’.

Cartoonist Patrick Blower known for his work with the Daily Telegraph, Evening Standard and the Guardian came on board to develop their messages through hard-hitting images. The advertising agency McGarryBowen provided us with expertise on slogans and how best to create an image that works on a billboard.
