The Bedford Creative Arts Board of Trustees is seeking a new Chair.

Bedford Creative Arts creates transformative cultural experiences that directly engage with people from all walks of life. Working with artists and other cultural practitioners we deliver cultural programmes and commissions for diverse communities, in particular those who experience difficulty accessing mainstream cultural activities or otherwise feel isolated or excluded.

The Role of Chair

We invite you to lead us through the next phase of our development as a leading provider of collaborative, original, imaginative, extraordinary, adventurous and often provocative art works and encounters in every day and unconventional places.

After a period of reinvention and planned growth, we are looking for an individual with skills and experience of successful business planning and leadership, especially in aligning financial and business objectives.

Ideally you should have an interest in the arts and/or social inclusion, be able to contribute innovative ideas and creative solutions to our plans, be enthusiastic about our values and demonstrate excellent judgment. A track record of running and developing small to medium enterprises or equivalent is essential and knowledge of charities compliance would be a distinct advantage.

The role is voluntary with all reasonable expenses paid. It offers opportunities for participation in the lively local, regional and national, contemporary, combined arts scene through accompanying the executive to private views, performances, presentations, conferences and artist studio visits.

We recognise the positive value of diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds.

As the chairperson of our board of trustees you would have the opportunity to support a unique, passionate and driven charity, which has a transformative impact on the communities it works with.

If you think you have the qualities we are looking for please go to our Opportunities page for more information.
